MCJROTC BOOSTER CLUB MEETING MINUTES November 6, 2023
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 18:34 by President Kristel Herring.
ROLL CALL: Members in attendance: Stephanie Lamb, Hillary Fleming, Dustin Breaux, Tonyna Breaux, Tony Starkey, Randy Ratcliff, Jewel Ratcliff, and Rita Lasyone.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS: A warm welcome was extended to any new members present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Dustin motioned to approve the minutes, and Randy seconded.
PRESIDENT'S REMARKS:
Membership forms were highlighted, with a request for completion if not done.
The Raptor Report was discussed, with an email copy requested once approved.
Oct 21st Dayton Drill Meet success was acknowledged, expressing gratitude for donated items.
Details for the upcoming Dec 9th Travis Drill Meet, including proposed food ideas, were presented.
VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS:
Emphasis on executive board members handling money; non-executive board members reminded not to.
Parent volunteers reminded to check in and out at events and communicate availability promptly.
BOOSTER CLUB FACEBOOK PAGE:
Events are being created on the new Facebook page, with members urged to post event photos.
COMMITTEES NEEDED:
Call for members to sign up for committees, especially an honorary committee chairperson.
MARINE CORPS BIRTHDAY BALL:
Scheduled for November 10th at Elegant Hall.
Details on DJ, photographers, cake, catering, bus service, and volunteers were discussed.
Confirmation of a sign-out sheet for cadet gifts.
Exploration for a new venue for the following year.
VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT (Stephanie Lamb):
Update on Spirit Nights/Fundraising.
Success of the Zombie Run, with $3394.75 made.
Consideration of Eagle Dash, potentially including a car show in May.
TREASURER'S REPORT (Tonyna Breaux):
Zombie Run revenue reported as $3394.75.
Available balance: $22,454.54.
Noted higher-than-anticipated costs for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball.
SECRETARY'S REPORT (Dustin Breaux):
Introduction of the Booster Club domain.
Updates on the Car Show, including approved use of the parking lot and ongoing graphic work.
Sponsorship outreach to Slater's Automotive and Texan Dodge.
INSTRUCTORS' REPORT (CWO and MGySgt):
Details on the Dec 5th Christmas Parade, including the need for candy cane donations.
NEXT MEETING DATE: December 11, 2023, at "El Jalapeno" at 6:30 PM.
WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE: $15 or less "ornament" gift.
